Through installed objects, and a companion lecture performance, anyone still awake? complicates the ethics of "wokeness," and pedagogical tools used to mobilize social change. Thinking alongside the models of consumption designed by theorists Pauline Oliveros, and N. Katherine Hayles, the work proposes a new model of media engagement and consumption. Compounding the slowness of Oliveros’ deep listening, with the efficient cultivation strategies of Hayles’ hyper attention, the model seeks to instill intentionality in our media-metabolism, and criticality in our engagements on-line.
