Biography:

Liam Mullen is an artist, writer, and researcher based in London, UK. Currently, they are engaged in postgraduate study at University College London’s Slade School of Fine Art. Their research-based practice uses time-based media and installation techniques to re-configure abstracted systems, and, otherwise, ambient governing forces to prompt affective awakenings. Mullen is enthusiastic about working with sound-based practitioners, to discuss, and develop, educational-arts programming and platforms that invigorate sonic research practices, and celebrate the discursive possibilities of sound art.

They have worked on projects shown at MOCA (Toronto, ON), Gallery TPW (Toronto, ON), Gallery 44 (Toronto, ON), Trinity Square Video (Toronto, ON), TANK Magazine (London, UK), Art Museum (Toronto, ON), Susan Hobbs Gallery (Toronto, ON),Visual Arts Centre of Clarington (Clarington, ON), and VIVO (Vancouver, BC). To read along with Mullen, you can find his words published by CMag, Cornelia Magazine, and Canadian Art Forecast.
